Talybont has a friendly Village shop  and Post Office which carries a fantastic range of both local produce and other day to day items you may require. They also sell freshly made sandwiches and home made cakes for you to take for your day in the hills or boating along the canal. Their range of frozen home made dishes are also delicious and they will arrange for a food order to be ready for collection if you require it.

Beacons Farm Shop:in nearby Bwlch are also known as the Venison Centre as they farm their own venison. The farm shop has a great selection of other meat and local produce including artisan breads, cheese, cakes and more. Their cafe now has a full menu and some excellent walks from their door.

Cat Soup Kitchen: a great find in Brecon right by the River Bridge at the start of the promenade. Having cunningly converted the old public toilets into a small street food style eatery they offer a range of mouth watering food. Summer you will find tables and chairs riverside with winter months take away only. Well worth a visit but check out their facebook page for up to date info on opening times, specials and even Sunday lunches to collect.

The Old Barn Tea Room

A short drive away, but well worth the trip, is this restored 18th century barn with spectacular views which offers a selection of home cooked food, light lunches and delicious afternoon teas.
