Star Gazing in Talybont

Because of its location, Talybont enjoys dark skies making star gazing a real possibility.

Brecon Beacons National Park is only the fifth destination in the world to be granted international dark sky reserve status.  Our Park has some of the highest quality dark skies in the whole of the UK, making it the perfect destination for stargazers.  For more information click here.

SEPTEMBER IS HERE and our special theme this month is DARKNESS in honour of the first dark sky festival in the Brecon Beacons National Park on 24-26th September.

The challenge is to capture some of the spectacular dark skies, or nocturnal mammals or sunsets in and around Talybont on Usk. The best images will be featured on the official Talybont on Usk website and social media as well as on the Brecon Beacons National Park website and media. The winning photographer will be treated to an introductory zoom session covering night photography followed by a half day one to one course on astro-photography with Nigel Forster photography.
