There are always interesting things happening in Talybont all year around.. We struggle to keep this page updated with the many one-off events so it’s always worth skimming our “Latest News” (column on right hand side of page).
The much loved Talybont Show takes place in Henderson Hall playing fields at 2pm on August Bank Holiday Saturday every year. Everyone is welcome.
Talybont Flicks– a monthly film on the first Wednesday of the month in the community hall. Everyone welcome. Films are shown on our huge drop down cinema screen with surround sound and an induction loop for the hard of hearing. Locals and visitors are very welcome. You are invited to bring your own drinks and nibbles which can be anything from a flask of tea to a bottle of wine!! You sit at tables so all very civilised! See Hall Events page for details of next film.
Creating Talybont’s own Community Orchard – come and join in the fun!
The Community Orchard project is building to a frenzy of activity from November until Mid-March. There’s an array of activities, indoor and outdoors; some involving food, singing, booze and walking – see below!
In the Spring we planted 25 apple trees on the village playing fields and next to the playground – the first two of our four orchard sites. Over the next five months we’re going to plant the other two orchard sites. These are located alongside the canal opposite the limekilns in Talybont (courtesy of Canals & Rivers Trust) and on Gilestone Farm adjacent to the Community Woodland (thanks to Charles Weston). And we’ll be making an ‘Orchard Trail’ which will circle Talybont village linking all four orchards and providing a great new dog-friendly route for walkers and runners.
