Resource Efficient Wales has offered Talybont area a set of 20 free household energy surveys (to be conducted in March) if we can collect around 20 local households who wish to take part.

It seems the offer is only open to domestic premises.

The details we have received from Resource Efficient Wales are as follows:-

In each case the household must be:
Owned by the occupant (i.e. not rented)
Owner not on benefits (Resource Efficient Wales can put you in touch with other schemes for those on benefits).

The surveys will provide households with a guide to how they could make their homes more energy efficient. It also looks as if they wish to collect data on household uptake of energy measures in general and the barriers to doing this.

Surveys are planned for March 2015 and you will receive:
Energy Performance Certificate
Green Deal compliant Advice Report

The information will be shared with:
The Green Valleys CIC (the Client Manager for this Welsh Government Project)
Severn Wye Energy Agency as their contact centre will hold some details and undertake follow up calls.

If we receive around 20 replies before the closing date, then our understanding is that Resource Efficient Wales will proceed with the free surveys in this area,

On a completely separate project, Talybont Energy is exploring whether it could offer local households an informal survey of their home using a thermal imaging camera which can help highlight where your property is losing heat. We can’t yet confirm whether we will be able to do this project, but please indicate in your reply email if that would interest you and we will contact you if and when the thermal camera project gets off the ground.
