2nd-3rd- Sennybridge Agricultural Show
Horse, sheep and cattle classes are held during the day, including an expanding dog show. Craft, Domestic and Horticulture tents together with Trade stands, Members tent and Bar surround the ring giving the show an intimate and friendly atmosphere. Show attractions including bands, various displays competitions and an evening BBQ combine to make our show well worth a visit and a good day out. On Sunday the 3rd, there will be a show concert with Rhydian perfoming on the show field, with features West End Star Lee Mead, A Capella Band Sorela and BBC Radio favourite Chris Needs! 9th September- Usk Show
On the second Saturday in September, every year since 1844, Usk Farmers’ Club have held the Usk Show to celebrate the very best of Monmouthshire farming and rural life. Now one of the biggest One-Day Agricultural Shows in the whole of the UK, its popularity is second-to-none. Over 300 traders join us each year outdoors and in our Food Hall, Craft Marquee or Shopping Mall and you can come and enjoy it all!

A 35 Mile Team Endurance Challenge following one of the most scenic canal routes in Britain. Help celebrate over 200 years of one of the most scenic canal routes in Britain. 16th-Storytelling Festival at Craig Y Nos
Storytelling Festival at the Country Park on Saturday 16th September. £5 adults, kids free. A day and evening of storytelling, music, arts, circus and crafts and a great atmosphere for the whole family set in the historic grounds of Craig-y-nos Country Park, once the home of world famous opera singer Adelina Patti. Discover local legends, magical tales, stories from history and songs which tell a narrative of times old and new.

16th-17th- Science, Nature and Comedy Festival
The world’s first Science, Nature and Comedy Festival will be held at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales this September! The Line up includes: Jim Al Khalili-a theoretical physicist, Robin Ince-a multi-award winning comedian and author, Steve Jones a professor of genetics, Penderyn Whisky and many, many more! 23rd-Llandovery Sheep Festival
Llandovery Sheep Festival celebrates droving, sheep farming & the wool industry. All
weekend the town of Llandovery will be celebrating its farming routes and connection to the drovers trails of old. Highlights of the weekend include the fantastic sheep race, sheep dog trials & sheep shearing demonstrations amongst other great sheep-related fun. There is also a Food Theatre celebrating local produce with demonstrations from guest chefs including Michelin Star holder James Sommerin. Tasty food stalls and craft stalls will be throughout the town all weekend, with music and street entertainment throughout. 23rd-The Welsh Country House an Illustrated talk by Dr. Mark Baker
Dr. Mark Baker is an architectural historian based in Wales. He read History and Archaeology at Bangor University, and Medieval British Studies at Cardiff University, where he also completed his doctoral thesis on The Development of the Welsh Country House in 2015. As a freelance architectural historian, researcher and writer, Mark has worked with organisations such as the National Trust, Cadw and the Royal Commission on Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales.
Dr. Baker will talk on Welsh Country Houses and the work he is undertaking at Gwrych Castle (illustrated above) in north Wales.
