Year of the Sea – Talybont plays a part

The Brecon Beacons National Park are getting involved with the Visit Wales ‘Year of the Sea’ by celebrating the history of how coal was taken from the mines to the sea. Talybont played a part in transporting the coal down the Brinore Tramroad to the barges on the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal at Talybont. There is a walk with a map you can follow starting in Talybont which takes you along part of the Tramroad and past the lime kilns with plenty of places to stop and have some refreshments before, during or after your walk! For more information go to the National Parks website and enjoy some fun animation too.
